⚙️ Server Setup Required

PDF → Office conversions require Python libraries on your server:

  • pdf2docx – PDF to Word
  • camelot-py or tabula-py – PDF to Excel
  • python-pptx + pdf2image – PDF to PPT

See the setup-pdf-tools.sh file for the one-command installer. The pdf-convert.php backend handler is provided separately.

Frequently Asked Questions

Are these PDF tools really free?

Yes. All 20+ PDF tools on this page are 100% free, with no signup, no watermark, and no file size limits (client-side tools are limited only by your browser's memory).

Are my files uploaded to your server?

Most tools (merge, split, compress, watermark, sign, etc.) run entirely in your browser using WebAssembly and JavaScript. Your files never leave your device. Only PDF↔Office conversion uses our server.

Is it safe to use these PDF tools?

Yes. Since files are processed locally in your browser, they are completely private. For server-side conversions, files are auto-deleted after processing.

What is the maximum file size?

Browser-based tools typically handle PDFs up to 100 MB comfortably. Larger files may require more memory and could slow down older devices.

Can I use these tools on my phone?

Yes. The entire PDF Tools Suite is fully responsive and works on Android, iOS, tablets, and desktop browsers.

Do I need to install any software?

No. Everything runs in your browser. No downloads, no installations, no extensions required.

Which tools work without internet?

Once the page and its libraries are loaded, most tools work offline (except OCR and server-side PDF↔Office conversion).

Why is PDF→Word conversion on the server?

Accurate PDF→Office conversion requires complex layout analysis (fonts, images, tables) that is not yet feasible in browsers. We use Python libraries on our server for highest accuracy.
